ENGLISH PROFICIENCY
English proficiency can be demonstrated by:
- A score of 500 or higher on the Paper-Based TOEFL, or 173 or higher on the Computer-Based TOEFL; or
- A score of 500 or higher on the Institutional TOEFL administered by SVU.
Students are strongly encouraged to take the TOEFL
test prior to attending to SVU. Those students who did
not take the TOEFL test, or those who did not pass the
proficiency requirements stated above, are
required to take the test during their first week of
classes at SVU. The students can either take the
official TOEFL at certain test centers or the
Institutional TOEFL administered by SVU. Students
will be on conditional admission until English
proficiency is demonstrated.
