GRADUATE PROGRAMS

Master of Science in Computer Engineering ( MSCE )
Undergraduate Preparation
Students who do not have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering will be required to demonstrate competency in the following areas:
Mathematics:
Math 200 Calculus 4 Credit Hours
Math 206 Discrete Mathematics 4 Credit Hours
Math 210 Probability & Statistics 4 Credit Hours
Math 214 Differential Equations 4 Credit Hours
Computer Science:
CS 200 Introducation to Computer Science 4 Credit Hours
CS 202 Introduction to C Language 4 Credit Hours
CS 206 Introduction to Unix or CS 208 Introduction to Windows & Windows NT 4 Credit Hours
CS 414 Programming in C++ or CS 416 Programming in Java 4 Credit Hours
CS 300 Data Structures 4 Credit Hours
CE 352 Introduction to Logic Design 4 Credit Hours
CS 400 Operating Systems 4 Credit Hours
CS 426 Computer Networks I 4 Credit Hours
CE 454 Computer Architecture I 4 Credit Hours
Graduate Level Curriculum
All MSCE students must complete coursework in the following areas with a minimum of 36 credit hours in total:
Computer Engineering Graduate Core (12 credits)
CS 400 Operating System 3 Credit Hours
CS 526 Computer Networks II 3 Credit Hours
CE 551 IC Layout 3 Credit Hours
CE 554 Computer Architecture II 3 Credit Hours
Electives ( mininum 24 Credits )
Students in the MSCE program may take any 400 level or above Computer Engineering or Computer Science undergraduate as electives to meet the elective requirement. However, no more than four 400 level undergrad are allowed to count towards graduate credits to meet the minimum 36 graduate credits for graduation. The 400 level undergraduate are credited and charged as 3 credits at the graduate tuition rate when elected as graduate credits.

Students in the MSCE program should select at least one concentration area among the following:
  • Concentration Area A (Computer Networks & Telecommunications)
  • Concentration Area B (Database and Software Engineering).
The concentration areas will be addressed later. To qualify as a concentration area on a transcript, a student has to select at least three courses from that concentration area.
