Students who successfully complete the requirements for each course will receive a Certificate of Competency in English. Students, who fail to achieve any of the requirements, but request for the Certificate of Competency, will instead receive a certificate, which indicates the total number of completed hours of instruction has been received. Minor deviations from the above guidelines can be approved by consultations between the ESL instructor(s) and the student advisor. Students are required to take a TOEFL test at the completion of each trimester. This score will be compared to the TOEFL at the beginning of the ESL course for providing a measurement of their improvement.
